The Zurich events agency, Rufener Events Ltd., is being integrated into the Swiss Exhibition Group - now MCH Group - under the auspices of MCH Swiss Exhibition (Holding) Ltd., with retroactive effect as of 1 January 2009. MCH Group is thus expanding its business activity by a further segment in the event services field. For the successful Rufener Events Ltd, integration into MCH Group is opening up further growth prospects.

Rufener Events Ltd. with head office in Zurich, was set up in 1994 by its current CEO, Hans-Jürg Rufener. The company currently has some 30 employees who create and implement events worldwide for eminent national and international business groups. This internationally active agency, which is focussed on demanding corporate events, offers its customers comprehensive services, ranging from the development of concepts for their events through to the planning and holding of these events. Customers include globally-operating big business and international associations with their head office in Switzerland.

Rufener Events is to be run as an independent subsidiary within MCH Group, under the management of Hans-Jürg Rufener. "The agency's integration into MCH Group gives us the opportunity to implement our growth strategy in an expanded and accelerated form", explains the CEO of Rufener Events. "The strong network of competent partners within MCH Group will enable us to open up new market segments."

Expansion of business activities

With the acquisition of the event agency, MCH Group now takes in the two exhibition companies in Basel and Zurich - MCH Swiss Exhibition (Basel) Ltd. and MCH Swiss Exhibition (Zurich) Ltd. - together with the service companies Winkler Veranstaltungstechnik AG, Expomobilia AG and Rufener Events Ltd., all of which come under the auspices of MCH Swiss Exhibition (Holding) Ltd. The business activity of MCH Group is thus divided into three strategic business fields: the organisation of leading national and international exhibitions (with some 30 exhibitions of its own, including BASELWORLD and Art Basel); management of its own exhibition and conference infrastructure in Basel and Zurich; and event management, stand construction and event technology services.

MCH Group - Global Live Marketing

Reflecting the group's development, this former trade fair company has repositioned itself and has taken on a new name and a new design: Swiss Exhibition Group is being transformed into MCH Group, with a new self-image which is expressed in its claim of "Global Live Marketing". The two-dimensional "MCH" word mark is surrounded by a frame, depicted in perspective, which represents the multidimensional portal nature of the group's activity. With the introduction of MCH Group's new corporate communications, the holding company is to be given a new name too. A proposal will be submitted to the next General Meeting to the effect that MCH Swiss Exhibition (Holding) Ltd. be renamed MCH Group Ltd.
