The China CleanTech Index underperformed all of its four benchmarks for the month of March 2014 and recorded a loss of 4.5%. The China CleanTech Index fell from 46.8 to 44.7 over the month of March recording a 4.5% loss. This compared to the NEX loss of 2.5%, the CTIUS loss of 0.9%, the Shanghai Composite loss of 1.1% and the MSCI loss of 0.1%. The China CleanTech 20 fared worse with a loss of 5.7%.
On Friday March 7, the CEO of Clean TeQ (ASX:CLQ) Mr Cory Williams and the Founder of Clean TeQ Mr Peter Voigt, along with a group of investors, Austrade Representatives, clients and staff, were honoured to participate in the official opening of the new Clean TeQ R&D Facility in Notting Hill Melbourne, by Federal Minister for the Environment, the Honourable Greg Hunt.
The China CleanTech Index recorded a 4.1% gain in February 2014 but outperformed only one of its four benchmarks. The China CleanTech Index rose from 44.93 to 46.78 over the month of February recording a 4.1% gain. This compared to the NEX gain of 10.8%, the CTIUS gain of 10.5%, the Shanghai Composite gain of 1.1% and the MSCI gain of 4.8%.
The China CleanTech Index rose from 44.37 to 44.93 over the month of January recording a 1.3% gain. This compared to the NEX gain of 3%, the CTIUS loss of 5.8%, the Shanghai Composite loss of 3.9% and the MSCI loss of 3.8%.
Following his recent trip to Japan, Mr Cory Williams, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Clean TeQ LTD (ASX:CLQ) has announced that the company has signed two significant deals in Japan that will return sole ownership and control of its CSG (coal seam gas) water treatment and scandium recovery technologies to Clean TeQ.
The cleantech sector is fundamentally different to Socially Responsible Investments (SRI) or Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance. SRI and ESG look at incremental improvements in company performance and can be seen as 'operational hygiene' measures that find the best in class. Cleantech focuses on companies whose output positively enhances the communities and ecologies in which they reside. It is about doing 'more good' rather than 'less bad'.
The China CleanTech Index rose from 42.56 to 45.34 over the month of November recording a 6.5% gain. This compared to the static NEX, the CTIUS gain of 2.4%, the Shanghai Composite gain of 3.7% and the MSCI gain of 1.6%.
