Aktia Oyj; Aktia Plc: Aktia's Board Of Supervisors Elected Mr. Marcus H. Borgström As New Board Member

Aktia plc Stock Exchange Release 8.12.2008 at 7.30 p.m.

In its meeting on 8 December 2008, Aktia Plc's Board of Supervisors re-elected all present members of the Board for the year 2009. In addition, Mr. Marcus H. Borgström was elected new Member of the Board.

Mr. Marcus H. Borgström, M.Sc. (Agruculture & Forestry), Honorary Counsellor, born1946, farms Östersundom estate in Sipoo. He has serveral positions of trust in different sectors of business life, mainly in the food industry. He is Chairman of the Board of Veritas Mutual Non-Life Insurance Company which will be merged with Aktia on 1 January 2009. Mr. Borgström is Chairman of the Board of Pellervo Confederation of Finnish Cooperatives and Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Varuboden. In 2007, Mr. Borgström was elected Chairman of the Board of the Year in Finland in his position as Chairman of the Board of HK Scan Plc.

Mr. Kaj-Gustaf Bergh will continue as Chairman of the Board of Aktia, and Mr. Dag Wallgren as Vice Chairman
