Kesko Oyj (HEL:KESAV) New K-rauta Opening In St. Petersburg Exceeds Expectations

Rautakesko successfully opened its ninth K-rauta store in St. Petersburg on Saturday, 29 November 2008. The new store in Peterhof welcomed a record number of customers, estimated at over 16,000.

Even on Sunday, the ninth K-rauta opened for the Christmas season attracted more than 7,000 visitors. On the opening day alone, over 10,000 new customer loyalty cards were granted. The card gives special discounts and benefits to the best customers.

"The opening exceeded our expectations in every respect. We're happy and pleased that customers found their way to the store already on the very first days," says Mikko Pasanen, Rautakesko's Country Director for Russia.
The new store is located along the Peterhof Highway (Petergofskoe shossee), in the fast-developing Krasnoselskyi district. The total area of the new store is 16,500 m², of which the indoor sales area accounts for 8,500 m² and the outdoor sales area for building materials for 8,000 m².
