PÖYRY AWARDED STEELWORKS MODERNIZATION PROJECT ASSIGNMENT BY OVAKO, FINLAND

Pöyry has been awarded a pre-engineering and EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) services contract by Ovako Wire Oy Ab for a steelworks modernization project in Koverhar, Finland. The value of the contract is not disclosed.

The contract covers pre-engineering services and project management, engineering, procurement and construction management services for the implementation of the modernization project. The services will be delivered by November 2009. The assignment supports Pöyry's position as a provider of comprehensive engineering and project services.

Ovako is a leading European long special steel products company. Ovako's total net sales are around EUR 2000 million and it employs 4300 people. Its total production is 2 million tonnes of steel a year.
