Mobile imaging expert expands international team with new employee

Scalado, the leader in mobile imaging software solutions, has today announced that the number of its global employees will have doubled by the end of 2008, with the recent addition of significant people to its Business Development, Engineering, and Customer Support teams. Furthermore, the Company also estimates more than double revenues 2008 compared to 2007.

This year's growth comes as a result of successful product launches and new developments over the last year, which has seen Scalado add a further two Tier 1 camera phone OEMs as its licensees, and the recent signing of a major licensing agreement with Symbian Limited.

The Company has also augmented its worldwide presence by expanding operations in Korea, in order to be more responsive and flexible to customers in this region. This global presence will put Scalado in close proximity to some of the emerging market's manufacturers, and nearer to the operators who are fast becoming leading players in their respective countries.

"Even in this difficult economic climate, Scalado is continuing to expand on a global scale, following a year of successful product launches which have triggered a huge increase in demand for the Company's imaging solutions," said Mats Jacobson, CEO Scalado. "With many manufacturers now offering five, six, seven and even eight megapixels on their camera phones, the need for fast, powerful, memory-efficient image processing software is greater than ever. We are proud to be working with the leading mobile phone manufacturers in this area, and we are looking forward to improving the camera phone experience even further as we continue to expand our operations."

The expansion of Scalado's Symbian Team follows the recent signing of a licensing agreement with Symbian Limited, the market leader in open operating systems for mobile phones, for Scalado's mobile imaging software. Scalado's solution for Symbian OS will significantly improve Symbian's imaging performance for higher megapixel images, as it will deliver faster rendering, scaling and rotation - as well as superior image editing features - with the added benefit of reduced memory consumption.

The agreement provides state of the art image handling capabilities for Symbian OS(TM), and will therefore make Symbian an even more attractive mobile OS choice for mid-range devices. As such, Symbian and Scalado are working together to create a joint team of highly skilled imaging and camera engineers to enhance and extend Symbian's camera and imaging offering.

Scalado's CAPS(TM), the imaging SDK, is now being used in 200 million mobile handsets. The Company currently has its software embedded in more than 50 different camera phone models, from 5 out of the 6 leading handset OEM's. to power its imaging applications in new camera phones.
