Results of study of BAR System at Swinburne University Cortical Dynamics Ltd, an investee company of BPH Energy Limited (ASX:BPH), is pleased to announce the results of a recently completed study of the major components of the Brain Anaesthesia Response monitoring system. The aim of the study was to verify the performance of the BAR system by evaluating the performance of all the signal gathering and analysing components. The study replicated and extended well known results regarding the effect of the hypnotic agent benzodiazepine alprazolam on brain electrical activity, electroencephalogram, in healthy subjects. This study was not designed to gain regulatory approval.

BPH Energy Limited (ASX:BPH) investee company Molecular Discovery Systems (MDS) is pleased to confirm the publication of a peer reviewed scientific paper supporting the role of the cancer tumour suppressor gene, HLS5 (also known as TRIM35). The study conducted by independent researchers in China found that reduced HLS5 levels were shown to correlate with worse tumour grade, increased tumour size and elevated serum AFP levels, a marker of liver cancer. The paper indicated that the loss of HLS5 expression is a critical event in liver cancer.
