The Group operates in two industry segments: Pharmaceuticals, include prescription pharmaceuticals and vaccines, and Consumer Healthcare, include over-the-counter medicines, oral care and nutritional healthcare. Major markets include the USA, Japan, the UK, France, Germany and Italy. During 2001, the Group acquired Block Drug Co Inc and 50% of Shionogi. Pharmaceuticals accounted for 84% of 2001 revenues and Consumer healthcare, 16%.
