ASM International NV (AMS:ASM) Almere, The Netherlands - December 22, 2008 - ASM International N.V. (NASDAQ: ASMI and Euronext Exchange in Amsterdam: ASM) said today that the Enterprise Court in a ruling dated 22 December 2008 agreed to the requests submitted by ASMI in consultation with Hermes and Fursa on 4 December 2008 for a delay of the court hearing scheduled for approximately 15 December 2008. The Enterprise Court has requested the parties to report back by 15 January 2009. If applicable a new date for the hearing will be set by the Enterprise Court at a date not later than 5 February 2009 and if applicable a new date for an EGM will be set not later than 5 March 2009. (Nasdaq: ASMI and Euronext Amsterdam: ASM) announced today that ASMI and Tokyo Electron Limited (Tokyo Stock Exchange - 1st Section: 8035) have signed a licensing agreement. According to this agreement, ASMI grants usage of its currently filed and issued Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) patents to Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL) in the field of batch ALD. Detailed terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

ASM International NV (AMS:ASM) ALMERE, The Netherlands - December 12, 2008 - ASM International (Nasdaq: ASMI and Euronext Amsterdam: ASM) announced today that it has completed the buyback of USD 48 million nominal amount of its 5¿% Convertible Subordinated Notes due 2010 for a total consideration of approximately € 30 million. The buyback has been funded by the remaining € 13 million of the 2008 cash dividend received from its subsidiary, ASM Pacific Technology, Ltd. (ASMPT), and expected future ASMPT cash dividends. By spending € 30 million equal to USD 38 million to retire USD 48 million of these debentures, ASMI lowered its Front-end net debt position by € 8 million, decreased interest charges, and reduced the potential share dilution related to conversion of these notes. ASM International NV (AMS:ASM) Bilthoven, The Netherlands - 4 December 2008 -- ASM International N.V. (Nasdaq: ASMI and Euronext Amsterdam: ASM) in consultation with Hermes and Fursa today submitted a request to the Enterprise Court to further suspend the enquiry hearing scheduled for approximately 15 December 2008 to approximately 1 February 2009. The parties have proposed to the Enterprise Court that they will let the Enterprise Court know by 15 January 2009 whether such hearing should proceed or not, depending on the outcome of their discussions. It is expected that the Enterprise Court will rule on the extension request within the next few days. Further announcements will be made if and when appropriate.
