Yara International ASA Oslo (2008-07-09): Yara North America , Inc. has signed a long-term lease for 50 acres of land in St. James Parish, up the Mississippi river approximately 60 miles from New Orleans.

Yara International ASA Oslo (2008-07-07): Yara International ASA has appointed Egil Hogna (37) new Chief Financial Officer. He will take up the position from August and succeeds Sven Ombudstvedt.

Yara International ASA Oslo (2008-06-30): CFO and Head of Strategy Sven Ombudstvedt has decided to step from his position and will leave Yara International on 4 July 2008. A new CFO will be appointed during week 28. Mr. Ombudstvedt has served as Yara CFO and Head of Strategy since October 2006. He held the position of Senior Vice President Upstream from 2003 until 2006, and prior to this he held a number of leading positions in Norsk Hydro.

Yara International ASA Oslo (2008-06-30): After a successful period as CEO of Yara International, Thorleif Enger will retire from the company. He will be replaced by Jørgen Ole Haslestad (57), who will become the new CEO of Yara International as of September 2008. Mr. Enger steps down at his desired retirement age of 65 years.

Yara International ASA Oslo (2008-06-26): Yara Sluiskil BV has contracted Uhde GmbH to design and build a new world-scale urea plant to replace old assets at its Sluiskil production site in the Netherlands. Yara will invest in total approximately EUR 400 million on the site, to produce 1.3 million tons per year from 2011.

Yara International ASA Oslo (2008-06-23): Yara International ASA invests EUR 30 million in a new world-scale liquid carbon dioxide facility and enters into a long term partnership with Ensus Group. Following the agreement, CO2 raw gas produced at the Ensus wheat refining plant, which is the largest in Europe, will be supplied into the new Yara plant and upgraded to high purity liquid CO2 for the growing UK food and beverages industry.
